Brad Pitt is an exceptionally talented actor and is one of the most recognized faces in the film industry. He has been part of some extremely successful movies, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Inglourious Basterds, and Fight Club. He has also been nominated for an Acadamy award on seven different occasions and won twice, once for Best Supporting Actor and once for Best Picture.
Another popular work that featured the Oscar-winning actor was his mega-hit Oceans series, starring alongside the one and only, George Clooney. While the two became quite close, many might not know that Pitt stole a role from Clooney many years before their paths crosses in the heist movie series.
George Clooney Was Supposed To Star In Thelma and Louise Instead Of Brad Pitt
One of the most definitive roles in Brad Pitt‘s career was his small, but vital role in the 1991 movie, Thelma and Louise. The actor played the attractive young man named J.D, who is possibly most well-known for the scene where he took his shirt off in front of the camera, something that can be credited for putting Pitt on the map.
What might shock many, however, is that George Clooney also auditioned for this role before Pitt did, be it before he was as famous as he is now, but that did not stop the casting directors from rejecting him. Even though Clooney would have gotten his fame much faster if he had starred in this movie, his entire career trajectory would have been completely different and perhaps, he would have never played the iconic characters he is known for today, including Batman himself.
Brad Pitt’s Audition For Thelma and Louise Was Almost Ruined Because Of Geena Davis
It would seem that George Clooney wasn’t the only one who had a rocky audition for Thelma and Louise, as Geena Davis, who stars as Thelma in the movie, revealed during an interview that she almost ruin Brad Pitt’s audition for the movie as she was so completely awestruck by him. The actress revealed that she was present during the actor’s audition so that she would read lines with him. This, however, backfired with the actress met him.
“Each of them were very handsome. They all had brown hair and were very talented. I didn’t care who it was going to be. Then the fourth one comes in, and it’s Brad Pitt. He’s so charismatic and so incredibly talented that I was screwing up his audition,” she said.
Davis revealed that she had been auditioning many people back to back, not able to find the right person for the role until Pitt walked in. She elaborated by saying that Pitt was so talented and charismatic, that she was unable to focus on the task she had, instead getting lost in his charm.
