The Terminator actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been open about the hardships he had to go through before landing his stardom and how it helped him. All might know the Terminator actor for his excellent muscles and physique, but he is more than that. The seven-time Mr. Olympia winner is not only about his strong muscles but even his strong mindset that made him what he is today.

The Austrian bodybuilder grew up in a poor family and he even said once in a vulnerable post how they used to get up before sunrise to get their chores done so that they could support their family.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Not Only About Strong Muscles But Strong Mentality As Well

From being one of the poorest to one of the richest, the journey of Arnold Schwarzenegger was never easy, but his strong mentality and hard work with a disciplined lifestyle made it all possible. In an interview back in 1999 with Johnny Vaughn(YouTube) the Austrian bodybuilder was asked how he rose to the heights of success, and he had only one word.

‘’Dream” he further explained. “I was poor, because I didn’t have anything. I had no money, I had no things, we had no TV, we had no refrigerator. We had nothing as kids. But I was rich because I had a dream.I had a dream of becoming the greatest bodybuilder, and I had a dream to use bodybuilding as a means to get into films. But I had no idea it would go as far as it did.”

He has been modest since the beginning, but that never made things easy for him, The Terminator actor always had a vision and a goal, and that is what drove him to the heights of success. 

The two-time Mr. Universe winner was born in 1947 and moved to the USA in 1968 to get a breakthrough in acting. But everywhere he turned he got rejected and got told that he had no chance due to his physique and a funny English accent. But it all changed after he starred in Conan the Barbarian and got praised for both his acting skills and well-defined physique, Even the director of the film came out in all praise of him telling the press how Arnold Schwarzenegger made the film how it is supposed to be made.

Hardships And Childhood Of Arnold Schwarzenegger That Shaped Him

The Terminator actor was riding high back in the 1980s and 90s but soon had a downfall and that made him move to politics back in 2003. While talking about his childhood it was all about hardships and staying strong and he has been vocal about it a lot.

The Austrian hunk grew up in an extremely poor family with a brother named Meinhard and he didn’t even know the concept of shower till he joined the gym at the age of fifteen. The Terminator actor didn’t have a great relationship with his father as his father used to think he was not his biological son and that is the reason his brother always got more preferred. 

Money wasn’t the only problem when he was growing up, he even claimed that no one was ready to listen to what he had to say and that led to more problems. Recently in an Instagram post the seven times Mr. Olympia wrote “I am a terrible reader” and he is now aware that he is dyslexic but back in school he had no idea. He recollects that the teachers used to ask him to read loudly in class and how it always ended in a disaster that had him getting smacked with a ruler. While the inspiration to many has come a long way from being nothing to having everything a human could desire, however, it was never easy for him.
