Channing Tatum is returning to the stage for one more time in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, which takes place in London after a business deal turns sour. In the sequel, Tatum is joined by Salma Hayek Pinault, and things will become spicy between them both.
Hayek Pinault came on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about working on the highly anticipated sequel, and she recounted a time when she nearly crashed on her head while preparing a dance routine. She also talked about the excess testosterone on the set.
Salma Hayek was scared that she would grow a mustache
Hayek plays Maxandra Mendoza, a rich socialite who assists Channing Tatum’s character Mike Lane in putting on a spectacular show in London, in the next film, which concludes the Magic Mike trilogy. Channing Tatum will return on the screen to play Mike after a long time which has created some buzz around the film.
In an interview with GQ Hype, Salma Hayek said that male dancers and crew members would pump weights in between takes. According to the actress, the set of Magic Mike’s Last Dance was filled with “so much testosterone.”
The actress joked saying, “There was so much testosterone I was afraid I was going to start growing a mustache.”
However, the Desperado actor stated that the set provided a safe setting for the male dancers to discuss their bodies. Rather than being competitive about their exercise results, the dancers, according to GQ assistant editor Olivia Pym’s account, spoke about their bodies as if “they were school science projects they had been carefully constructing for months.”
The actress said,
“They were talking about waxing parts of the body that I really didn’t want to hear about, but it was very refreshing. Before it would have been seen badly if they spent too much time on their bodies or were vain.”
Hayek continued,
“It’s an exciting time to be a woman, but also to be a man. Confusion is always a great landscape for revolution, and I think deep inside, we put a lot of weight on men. The old thing that they have to be successful and responsible financially for the family — that’s a lot.”
While Hayek Pinault has been very complimentary about the upcoming film and her co-star, she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week, that Tatum nearly killed her while rehearsing a scene from the movie’s dances.

Salma Hayek’s pants fell off during the filming
Hayek Pinault stated that she was afraid her trousers might fall down since Tatum was hanging on to her legs, and she wasn’t sure if she was wearing any underwear, which may have resulted in an embarrassing fashion disaster.
“You know, this one part that’s not in it where I’m upside down and my legs had to be somewhere. But upside down, one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do, so in the rehearsal, I went like, head down, almost hit my head.”
She continued,
“He held on to my pants, but I was really concerned because my pants were going away, and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear or not in this moment. So, instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just held onto the pants. He’s like, ‘Put your hands up,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.’ Everybody came in and kind of took me away from him, and he said, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ I said, ‘What’s wrong with me? You nearly killed me!'”
