Henry Cavill reveals his jealousy for not being part of the Tom Cruise franchise
Henry Cavill worked with Tom Cruise in his superhit movie Mission: Impossible – Fallout, released in 2018. The actor thoroughly enjoyed the adrenaline rush of doing the stunts and action sequences with Tom Cruise. Withdrawing from his excellent experience in the film, he wishes to be back with Tom Cruise and his crew.
The next one in the franchise, Mission: Impossible 7 is all set to release in theatres. Empire Podcast asked Man of Steel star Henry Cavill if he missed the Mission: Impossible experience or if he has moved on. Although his character August Walker was killed off in a gory fashion in the previous mission, the actor expressed his jealousy,
“I was extremely jealous. Extremely jealous. I want to be there, I want to be parachuting off a motorbike into a canyon. Why can’t I be there?”
Henry Cavill’s desire to reunite with Tom Cruise for Mission: Impossible has made his fans sad as his character met a rather traumatic end in the previous part, and he cannot make a comeback.
Will he make a comeback in Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise?
As we all saw in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the character played by Cavill met a dreadful end, and his comeback chances seem bleak. However, Henry Cavill has resurrected himself on numerous occasions, especially as DCEU’s Superman. Hence, as per fans’ speculations, massive head trauma and disfigurement could be worked around, which can bring back the villain from the dead.
Cavil spoke on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast on his eagerness to work in the franchise again. He said,
“When you’re working with McQ, you realize that he’s not stuck to one thing, and that’s really, really important.”
“I think it’s very important to have a framework to work from, but he is constantly evolving the story depending on how the scenes are turned out, what’s available, and any new ideas that are coming in. He and Tom [Cruise] as a duo is extraordinary because they are always coming up with creative ideas. They’ll have meetings about stuff and say, ‘What if this happened instead of that?’ and they’ll go, ‘Oh, that’s a really good idea, but that means you have to change all of this.’ And go ‘We love this. So let’s change all of that.’ It did become very much sides (new lines) the night before and sometimes the day of, which is becoming more and more usual.”
The actor announced some days back that he would not play the lead in James Gunn’s upcoming movie, Superman: Legacy.
Mission: Impossible 7 is all set to release in theaters on July 14, 2023.
Henry Cavill can be seen in part two of Enola Holmes, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
