The wrestler-turned-actor has talked about the struggles he went through during his career transition from wrestling to Hollywood. Johnson came over the obligations and established himself as one of the biggest and highest-paid actors in the industry. He is loved by his fans all around the world and was also highly praised for speaking openly about mental health struggles.
During a 2018 interview with The Express, the Black Adam star talked about how he struggled with depression long before he was a successful WWE and Hollywood star.

Dwayne Johnson Opens About His Depression Struggles
While promoting his 2018 sci-fi film Rampage, Dwayne Johnson opened up about his battle with depression. It was also around the time he shared an Insta post, talking about his mother’s suicide attempt and how it affected him.
The Rampage star shared that he knows struggle and pain are real, as he went through the same at a time in his life. He said, “Struggle and pain is real.” He also shared that as he struggled with depression, he did not want to go anywhere and do anything and used to constantly cry.
“I was devastated and depressed. I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.”
He also talked about how he was just 15 when his mother got out of the car and started walking into the “oncoming traffic.” But he grabbed her hand and pulled her back. The Rock shared that his mother has no “recollection” of what she attempted that day. However, he is also glad that she doesn’t remember doing such a thing.
Dwayne Johnson Urged to Help People With Mental Struggle
In his Instagram post, Dwayne Johnson shared that he decided to share the story after he filmed a scene for the HBO series Ballers, where a character goes to visit the grave of a friend who committed suicide. In his post, he shared that filming the heart-whelming scene reminded him that “We always gotta do our best to really pay attention when people are in pain.”
He urged others to help people who are in pain or are going through a rough patch in their life and remind them that they are not alone. The Jungle Cruise star said, “Help ‘em thru it, get ‘em talkin’ about the struggle, and remind ‘em that they’re not alone.” His post was received very positively, and other than his fans many in Hollywood also praised the actor for opening up about mental health struggles.
