Emily Blunt Thinks Dwayne Johnson Will Win An Oscar Soon
Blunt has worked alongside Dwayne Johnson as well as Cillian Murphy. Having always seen The Rock in comedic and action roles, Josh Horowitz had an interesting question to ask the Oppenheimer star in the Happy Sad Confused Podcast.
Horowitz and Emily Blunt talked about various things and three similarities between Dwayne Johnson and Cillian Murphy. Following that, Horowitz asked Blunt whether she would like to see Cillian Murphy in a Fast & Furious movie or Dwayne Johnson in Oppenheimer. The Edge of Tomorrow actress decided to go with the latter option.
“I wanna see Dwayne Johnson rip the face off something in Oppenheimer. I am telling you, I have told him. I said, ‘You’re going to win an Oscar one day’. I know it. He’s going to be and I’m excited and I think that there’s so much to mind there”
The actress further continued that actors like Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Gosling both listen well and intently whenever talked to. Stating that those are the signs of a great actor, Emily Blunt is hopeful for the future when Johnson wins an Oscar.
Emily Blunt States Creating Oppenheimer Wasn’t As Serious As People Thought
Being a Christopher Nolan film about the creation of the atomic bomb and the eventual bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, people would have thought that the sets would be gloomy. Portraying depression, fans imagined that the actors wouldn’t talk to each other, the sets would be dusty and war-torn and a gloomy atmosphere would be ever-present. Well, Emily Blunt proved them wrong by revealing that Nolan kept a pretty chill environment.
“It felt very warm and fun and joyful even though there’s the inevitable intimidation factor of working with Chris Nolan and the awareness that you’re gonna have to tighten the screws on yourself. Everything is calm. No chaos. There were plenty of LOLs on set.”
Oppenheimer went on to receive a rating of 8.7/10 on IMDB and a whopping 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie is currently screening in theaters across the world.
