Starring Daniel Radcliffe alongside Emma Stone and Rupert Grint, Harry Potter has become one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood. While the series has starred multiple actors apart from the golden trio, there have been several actors who either lost the opportunity to star in the franchise or rejected the offer. The Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is also one of them, who lost her chance to feature in the fantasy adventure film series.
The actress opened up about losing the part of Luna Lovegood in the fifth installment of the franchise Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

She is also known to be a Harry Potter fan and has shared that she even auditioned to star in the franchise. During an interview with The Independent, Ronan shared that the film series has been a huge part of her life as she has “grown up with Harry Potter.”
The Little Women actress shared, “When I was younger, I used to think they had the best job in the world.” And when she had the opportunity she tried her luck and auditioned for the role of Luna Lovegood, who made her on-screen debut with the 2007 film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
“I was too young – but at the time, I thought, ‘I’d love to be in Harry Potter,” Ronan said. However, seems like the odds were not in her favor, and she failed her audition. The role eventually went to her fellow Irish actress Evanna Lynch, who has been highly praised for her portrayal of Luna Lovegood.

“Don’t judge me for this, but I’m actually only starting to read the books,” she shared. While Ronan stated that she became a fan of the movie franchise, she was intrigued to know more about the movie series after visiting The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter with her friend A.J. Michalka.
“It was a magical day. I got a wand and a Gryffindor jumper… I actually did take the test, and I am (House) Gryffindor,” she recalled. The actress was reportedly also considered for the role of Queenie Goldstein in the Fantastic Beasts film series before Alison Sudol officially landed the part.
