Armie Hammer Thanks Robert Downey Jr For Helping Him Through His Addiction
Armie Hammer pointed out how Robert Downey Jr had a big part in his journey to sobriety. As a substance abuser, it had been a great difficulty for Hammer to quit and a big hand in helping him had been of the Iron Man actor. He had supported him throughout his endeavor of stepping away from drugs and any harmful substances.
“There are examples everywhere, Robert [Downey Jr.] being one of them, of people who went through those things and found redemption through a new path. And that, I feel like, is what’s missing in this cancel-culture, woke-mob business. The minute anyone does anything wrong, they’re thrown away. There’s no chance for rehabilitation.”
He elaborated on how cancel culture can very easily stop people from getting the second chances they rightfully deserve. Hammer focused on how Downey would never have been able to rise in fame after he struggled with addiction had it not been for the availability of rehabilitation and support from all around him. To Hammer, Downey had been the support he had desperately needed.
