However, the Academy Award-winning actor once revealed that the acclaimed filmmaker, Christopher Nolan might hate him because he once rejected his film. 

“He hasn’t offered me a film in a while. Do you know why? I’ll tell you why: He asked me to be in this movie, and I didn’t do it. I think that might have miffed him a little bit, but I’m being presumptuous myself.”

The actor-director duo collaborated on the 2002 American psychological thriller Insomnia, in which Pacino played Will Dormer, a bold detective. In an interview with The Guardian, the Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood movie star told the outlet that the acclaimed director stopped offering him films after he rejected one of his projects, which might have annoyed him.

“I think there are times where you feel that is a part that people seem to want to see me in — that kind of role. So, you want to do them from time to time, and I mainly did this one because of Chris Nolan. I enjoyed so much Memento and his work and his approach to the way he makes movies. That was, I think, the biggest reason I did the movie. But, again, I like the idea of a character who is in conflict. A good/bad guy. I like the good/bad guy.”

Christopher Nolan’s directorial, Insomnia grossed over $113 million at the global box office. It received positive reviews from critics and earned prominent awards for its powerful screenplay. The film had an A-list ensemble cast that includes: Al Pacino, Robin Williams, Hilary Swank, Maura Tierney, Martin Donovan, Nicky Katt, and Paul Dooley.
