When it comes to entertaining superhero movies or TV Series, Marvel is the first name that would come to the mind of any person. The franchise has given numerous smash-hit films, which have immensely entertained its audience, and set the bar too high for anyone to live up too, even themselves recently.
While, the studio has given countless TV series such as WandaVision, Moon Knight, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and many more. However, the franchise does not like to have second thoughts about their projects, and as a result Agents of SHIELD, the longest-running series of the superhero franchise got canceled after seven seasons of being aired on ABC. Adrianne Palicki, the star of the canceled show had something to say about Disney’s decision to not continue with the show.
Adrianne Palicki Believes Agents of SHIELD Would Have Been a Fruitful Project
Adrianne Palicki played the role of Bobbi Morse, the ex-wife of Hawkeye in the comic books. However, in the show, she was the wife of another character called Lance Hunter. Recently, Palicki gave an exclusive interview to Den of Geek, the actress talked about her time of shooting the superhero TV Series and talked about some of the best moments of the show.
“That moment in the bar, when we say goodbye to Mack, is still like, I think, one of the best moments of that show just because the love that’s with those three characters is so much and you really feel the loss of those characters.”
The Red Dawn actress also shared that the spin-off series by Marvel was intriguing to watch, and it is a shame that the show got canceled after the seventh season of the show being aired on ABC.
“I just think that at the time, they didn’t want to bring any more Marvel shows on that network. So it’s too bad because I think it would have really done well.”
Even though Adrianne Palicki has so much faith in the show, why was it that Disney decided to cancel Marvel’s longest-running TV Series?
Why was Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Canceled?
Agents of SHIELD is one of the most entertaining shows, with a unique approach to expanding the MCU with some new and old faces. After the massive success of The Avengers, Marvel Studios was looking for unique content and as a result, the show was created. The show got better as it continued because gradually it distanced itself from the MCU, and some analytics even showed that the show became more popular than the mainstream MCU series being streamed on Netflix.
While ABC decided to cancel the show after the fourth season, they were asked to renew it for its fifth season by Disney, as it would have collided with Avengers: Infinity War, and the writers of the show would have given a better ending to the show, justifying the title of “The End”. However, ABC decided to continue the show for two more seasons, leading to more problems.
Over the years, the bond between Marvel Studios and Marvel Television was close to non-existent and showrunners had no idea to think of a deserving ending to the show. Eventually, showrunners ignored Thanos’ snap and in the end, Marvel canceled the show.
Agents of SHIELD can be streamed on Dinsey+.
