“I think it was just coincidence”: Attack on Titan Star Revealed Absurd Pattern That Turned into a Ritual for Him After Wearing the Same Underwear for 10 Years

The famous voice of Eren Yeager revealed a strange secret about himself in a recent episode of Fuji TV’s ‘Bokura no Jidai’ program. Yuki Kaji spilled the tea about what we could only consider as absurd when asked about his work routines. He confessed to wearing the same underwear while playing a specific role, albeit he didn’t disclose much about the characters or which anime they’re from. He also chuckled and admitted that it was ten years old. It’ll be safe to say that Yuki Kaji spilled a lot of tea.

Yuki Kaji revealed the reason behind this ritualistic work behavior. The white and black pattern on the underwear in question gave him a similar impression of the original work, so he chose to wear them for the first episode of the anime. After a week, for the second episode of the anime, he again wore the same underwear, which was pure coincidence. One thing led to another, and this ended up becoming his decade-long ritual.

“I think it was just a coincidence, the pattern on the pants was black and white, and it was close to the impression I had of the work. I decided to wear them for the first episode, and then for the second episode I thought, ‘Oh, these are the same ones I wore last week,’ and I decided to wear them.“

Wearing the same underwear for the past ten years was indeed concerning from an aspect of hygiene. Hanazawa and Seki took the duty upon themselves to make sure he washed the underwear properly. To this, Yuki Kaji replied,

“That’s when I decided that I’d keep wearing it. Since I’m still wearing it and it’s already ten years old, it has some holes. But I have one recording session left, so it’s about to retire,” with a laugh.

Yuki Kaji goes into further detail and explains the exact position of a hole in the underwear. Considering it was ten-year-old underwear, he was very casual with his composure and said, “that it was at the seam in the middle of the crotch”.
