Before the highly anticipated release of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, emotions ran high for Hayley Atwell, who is rumored to be Tom Cruise’s ex-girlfriend. Reports surfaced earlier this year suggesting that Cruise was involved with Shakira following his split from Atwell. However, despite the speculations, the ex-couple appeared amicable as Cruise warmly greeted Atwell with a friendly peck on the cheek upon their arrival in Dubai.
During the red carpet event, Hayley Atwell opened up about her experience working alongside Tom Cruise in the movie and shed light on their relationship, despite the rumors of her ending things with him on a bad note.
Hayley Atwell Will Miss Filming With Tom Cruise
Hayley Atwell also gave a commendable performance alongside Tom Cruise in the upcoming Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One. Although Cruise is now considered an entirely different breed when it comes to performing life-threatening stunts, it is very difficult to one-up him on this one. Despite being a newcomer, Atwell has adjusted to the franchise, perfectly well, although described as, “an all-encompassing experience that asked everything of me physically,” by her, she laments not being able to do it ever again, she said,
“I think I’ll probably never have the experience again.”
It is the megastar, that made the experience an opportunity of a lifetime for the actress. Speaking on the charm and dedication of the actor, she explained,
“He’s an athlete, he is a stuntman, and he’s one of the best in the world. When he comes to set, not only is he fully engaged in the technical side of things and the acting side of things, but he is so clear and aware physically of what needs to happen for a stunt to go not only smoothly, but in a dynamic way.”
Thus, her filming process for the new has been an enthralling experience all thanks to Cruise. Even though Atwell laments not being able to experience this ever again, the title suggests a part two, although not clear whether she will be returning to reprise her role in the sequel as well, fans sure hope she does.
Did Hayley Atwell dump Tom Cruise?
It seems like Tom Cruise hasn’t had much luck dating recently. After seemingly getting, rejected by Shakira as well, most recently. But as Atwell and Cruise arrived at the Dubai premiere, their off-screen chemistry forced people to reflect on what actually happened that caused their alleged break up. The rumor mills started churning out stories back in 2020. Since then a source confirmed, in 2021,
“Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for them. They have now decided they are better as friends.”
Since then recently, the actress who is also newly engaged to her fiancé Ned Wolfgang Kelly, addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding her relationship with Tom Cruise. In an interview with Country & Town House last month, the actress, known for her roles in Christopher Robin, and Marvel emphasized the remarkable strength of platonic love, which she believes is sometimes overlooked or underestimated. She said,
“What I feel is the truly extraordinary power of platonic love, which seems to be sometimes under-represented.”
Thus, although their alleged affair seems nothing more than a rumor, Cruise who hasn’t dated anyone publically since 2012, is now rumored to be dating Rebecca Ferguson.
Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning – Part One will debut in theaters on 10th July 2023.
