Avengers: Endgame’s directors Joe and Anthony Russo have always shown just how knowledgeable they are in matters of filmmaking and production. They are well-versed in what they do and try to bring out the best they can to the audience. With the rising dominance of artificial intelligence, it hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Russos just how major an impact AI can have on motion pictures and the Hollywood industry altogether.
With the Writers’ Guild of America being on strike, it is already a wave of blockages that the industry has to face. The importance of writers is only a matter beginning to rise and according to Joe Russo, there is a lot left. Seeing how quickly AI is growing, this fear is not irrelevant.
Avengers: Endgame’s Joe Russo Worries AI Can Takeover Industries Quickly
Artificial Intelligence is very quickly taking over various parts of the world. Whether it is to write a project or help with the minutest things, AI has become somewhat of a secondary help for the everyday use of people. This has very well impacted the WGA as well. Writers have all gone on strike because of just how easy it is for AI to replace them in terms of scriptwriting and otherwise.
“I think everyone should be scared of AI,” Russo said. “I don’t know if you’ve heard any of the Drake ‘songs’ that have been dropping on social media, but it’s here. It’s not going anywhere.”
With how much AI is spreading, it becomes essential that it is servicing the people rather than the other way around. Joe Russo pointed out how the entire concept of AI because integral to balance as the WGA is trying its best to make AI written materials to be non-credible. It becomes important to know how to use AI in such a way that it does not take over various industries.
Joe Russo Understands The Impact Of AI
Joe Russo pointed at James Cameron’s movies and how his career is very dependent on artificial intelligence. It becomes very important to understand how intense the use of technology and AI can get with how it is a developing factor.
“When the creatives are engaged and the creatives are spearheading the use of technology — look at James Cameron’s entire career — that technology ends up in service of artists rather than vice versa,” he added. “If corporations drive the adoption of that technology, it might be a different story.”
AI is used in various places but none can compare to the effort writers put into their work. AI and technology are all very important with movies like Avengers: Endgame, Avatar, and many more.
