During her appearance on the Just Jenny radio show, Sharon Stone opened up about her disapproval of the cancel culture and how it helps create barriers between two parties. Calling it the stupidest thing ever, Stone stated,

“I think cancel culture is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I think when people say things that they feel and mean, and it’s offensive to you, it’s a brilliant opportunity for everyone to learn and grow and understand each other.”

She went on to imply that no two people can be the same since everyone comes from a different background and has had different experiences.

“We all come from different ages, different cultures, different backgrounds, different things, and have different had different experiences, different traumas, different upbringings, different parents, different religious backgrounds, different everything.”

The Basic Instinct actress then stated that people are “so much more than one sentence” and we must be mindful of that and have empathy for others. Do you agree with Stone or are you in support of cancel culture?

For context, Spider-Man actor James Franco has been accused by many women of inappropriate s*xual behavior toward them. These women were students at his acting school. Now, Stone is someone who has been very vocal about the unfair treatment she received from the men of the industry. Her Basic Instinct controversy where she stated she was tricked into exposing her private parts on camera is known by all.

During her appearance on the WTF podcast, Stone condemned the allegations against Franco stating that she was “appalled” that a kind and professional person like him was being accused of such things.

“I’m appalled by this thing about him that is happening. Now all of a sudden he’s a bad guy? I worked with him, I know him. He’s a kind friend, lovely professional. I’m absolutely appalled by this. I feel that it’s appropriate that people have to take responsibility for the actions, but I do feel that some due process is in order.”

As for the lawsuit against Franco, the women dropped their claims in early February as both parties reached a settlement of $2.2 million. However, Franco did state that while he did not sleep with women in that particular class, he did have a “consensual thing” with other students, which he realized was wrong.
