While Liam Hemsworth became popular through The Hunger Games, the movie also featured another prominent figure whose performance stole the show. Jennifer Lawrence, who played the role of Katniss Everdeen and their chemistry was one of the key highlights of the film. As a result, they grew close, and in a hilarious turn of events, Hemsworth jokes how he could not let go of his co-star during the premiere of their film.
Liam Hemsworth Shares Why He Couldn’t Leave Jennifer Lawrence Alone At Their Film’s Premiere
During an episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host discusses how Jennifer Lawrence deliberately tends to fall a lot. However, Liam Hemsworth said that Jennifer Lawrence, his Hunger Games co-star is an extremely clumsy person, and jokes that she is “terrible at walking.”
“Absolutely! She is terrible at walking. I am constantly surprised at how much she falls down without trying at all.”
The actor shared an instance from their London premiere of Hunger Games, to promote the final installment of the beloved adventure series. He described that Lawrence managed to down a set of stairs without any problem, and one of her heels broke down, and she went down. Luckily, she had to be propped up by her co-star.
“We’re in London, and we did an intro to one of the premieres there. She got down the stairs there, we got to the back of the theatre, and I don’t know one of her heels broke and she went down. Thankfully, it was at the back of the theatre. So, yeah couple of people at the back saw, I picked her up and she now only has one heel.”
Hemsworth added that he was responsible for one of her falls as he reflexively let go of Jennifer Lawrence when a friend of his came to hug him, and he takes full responsibility for that fall.
“So, I am walking her out, and when we get outside the theatre, a friend of mine comes out and, ‘Hey, good to see you.’ I let go of Jen to hug this person and [she went] straight down—hits the ground. I take full responsibility for that one.”
He shares other instances of her clumsiness stating that she fell down in Spain while going up a set of stairs at a premiere, and how she fell down in Berlin getting up of a chair. Both the host and the actor joked about her clumsiness, stating how there are very few movements where she is not at risk.
Liam Hemsworth Regretted Kissing Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games
During an exclusive interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Triangle actor shared how he hated the kissing scenes with the Red Sparrow actress. He revealed her disgusting habits before any kissing scene, calling the kiss extremely disgusting and uncomfortable.
“Any time I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable, pretty awkward. Well, I mean look, when you look at it on the outside, it looks like a great picture that you know. She’s one of my best friends, I love her, but, if we had a kissing scene, she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish.”
The actor added that Lawrence would come up and tell him that she had “garlic”, and did not brush her teeth.
“Something that was disgusting and, right before the scene she be like ‘Yeah, I had tuna. I had garlic and I didn’t brush my teeth,’ Fantastic, I can’t wait to get in there and taste it.”
While this was a very traumatizing incident for Liam Hemsworth, their performance in the film was worth watching as they were phenomenal in the films, making them one of the coolest pairs in an adventure film series.
