Each of us has had some wonderful and some bad situations in our lives that we will never forget. And celebrities are no exception. Many celebrities, like Joe Jonas, Ed Sheeran, and Hugh Jackson, have talked openly about their worst moments on stage over the years.
Recently, Jessica Chastain, who received praise for her performance in 2019’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix, revealed one of the most gross moments of her life during a podcast.
Jessica Chastain recalls throwing up in her mouth before a kissing scene
Jessica Chastain recently appeared on the SmartLess podcast, which is hosted by Will Arnett and Sean Hayes. The Academy Award-winning actor was asked by the hosts to name the worst thing that has happened to her.
The 46-year-old actor revealed the gross moment while working in a production of A Doll’s House. She revealed she threw up in her mouth and then swallowed it before kissing a co-star. She explained,
“I can say it now, ’cause we’re closed. This is really gross, what I’m gonna tell you guys. I threw up. I threw up and I swallowed it. And no one knew! I was kinda, like, sobbing and I leaned over and it happened. I had to kiss someone! Yes! It was a nightmare and I couldn’t explain.”
As the actor was performing on stage for the Broadway revival of A Doll’s House, she was unable to warn her co-actor about her sudden bout of nausea prior to their on-stage kiss.
As soon as the curtain came down, Jessica Chastain told the team that she vomited.
Jessica Chastain changed a scene in George & Tammy after finding it deeply disturbing
George & Tammy is a biographical drama television miniseries, which premiered in December 2022. Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon play the character of iconic country music couple Tammy Wynette and George Jones.
In an early outline, the scene originally depicted George Jones attempting to get some private time with Tammy Wynette by distracting her soon-to-be ex-husband Don Chapel with an escort.
However, Chastain found it deeply disturbing and said,
“I read it, and I was deeply disturbed. [Tammy] was just kind of sitting there. People were creating stuff so she could be caught rather than her making decisions.”
After Chastain’s refusal, this plot was finally removed. The actress worked with the writers to change the scene.
