Don’t Look Up Actress Jennifer Lawrence Admits Fangirling Over Ariana Grande

Jennifer Lawrence revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she was mesmerized upon meeting the pop singer, even more,, awestruck than seeing the legendary Meryl Streep:

I’m excited to be here with the whole cast. I’m so excited for this movie and for people to see it. I mean, Meryl Streep is the actual greatest actor that has ever lived, and when you watch her in person it only confirms that. I think I was more star-struck to be around Ariana Grande. Because our worlds don’t really collide with the musicians, and what she does is so different.”

Lawrence pulled a joke and claimed she could sing better than the two-time Grammy winner:

I mean, I sound similar, don’t get me wrong – better even. I’m coming out with something, you’ll see.”

During a Q&A at the Harmony Gold Theatre for BAFTA Awards, the Red Sparrow star revealed her excitement working with Grande in Don’t Look Up and admitted she fangirled too much (via Variety):

She can’t make bad music. I’ve since reflected on my behavior with Ariana Grande. I went full radio contest winner. I was so excited and nervous that at one point, I just kind of walked into her hotel room and sat down. I’ve just been thinking about it a lot lately. There were all of these trunks for her hair and makeup, and I was like, ‘Do you live here?’

Jennifer Lawrence played Kate Dibiasky, an MSU doctoral candidate in astronomy, in Don’t Look Up. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande portrayed Riley Bina, a pop superstar in the movie, who also co-wrote the film’s original song ‘Just Look Up.’
