Sandra Bullock has made a name for herself in the industry like no other star! She can pull off any genre movie with her dedication and passion. With her many award-winning performances, Bullock has opened many doors for herself in the industry and went on to star in several big banner films.
The Academy Award-winning actress once revealed that she nearly suffered a dangerous, fatal plane crash accident. In 2000, she was traveling from Austin, Texas, to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with her then-boyfriend Bob Scheider for a Christmas vacation when suddenly, the plane skidded off the runway while the pilot was landing it, and she nearly lost her life. Nevertheless, the actress survived the incident and came out unscathed.
On The Late Show With David Letterman, Sandra Bullock recalled the horrifying anecdote and revealed how she felt at the time of the incident.
”You think that your whole life would flash in front of your eyes, but nothing happened. I sort of went to like a blank, which is sad, which I really need to deal with at some point,” the actress said.
The Unforgivable movie actress told Letterman that the real-life fatal plane crash she encountered resembled one of her 1999 films, Forces of Nature. She starred opposite Ben Affleck, and they filmed a similar plane crashing scene during take-off.
Sandra Bullock Recalled Another Life-Threatening Incident
According to reports, Sandra Bullock had experienced some fatal plane crash accidents, but the actress survived them all without getting injured. In addition to her horrible 2000 accident, the Virginia native star once shared that she was flying in a private plane with Harry Connick Jr. to a press junket for her 1998 movie Hope Floats and encountered another accident.
”I’m not just clumsy. I injure myself. I was flying to a press junket for Hope Floats on this private plane with Harry Connick Jr. and a bunch of other people. I ran to get my bag, turned around, and all I remember is this flash of light, and then my glasses went flying. I had no idea what had happened,” she told EW.
The actress continued,
“And Harry just said, ‘Nobody says anything. She just ran into the wing.’ There was blood everywhere. I had cut the skin above my eye open. And there was no first aid kit, so we found a bottle of vodka, and I cut up some Band-Aids and did a butterfly bandage over the cut. I had a black eye, so I couldn’t even do the press junket.”
What makes these incidents bizarre is the fact that Sandra Bullock had faced a dangerous home invasion situation where a stranger broke into her home and threatened her life and safety. She had filmed a similar scene in a film with Ben Affleck before, which added to the eeriness and mystique of the whole scenario.
