Tom Holland, one of the best actors of his generation, began acting at a very young age, much like many other actors. He is currently regarded as one of the most popular and well-known actors, particularly in light of his portrayal of Peter Parker in the Spider-Man trilogy for the MCU. Holland currently enjoys a very sizable fan base and a decent standing in the industry.
He recently talked openly about his heavy drinking and the challenges he had while attempting to kick his addiction. Even while he believes that his ancestry may be to blame for his addiction, everyone is responsible for their own actions. Much like his MCU mentor Robert Downey Jr, Tom Holland also suffered from alcohol consumption during his early days in the industry.

Tom Holland is relatively a freshman in the industry, but he soon made a name for himself with excellent performances in a number of films and TV shows. In particular, his cast in the three MCU Spider-Man films as the lead character generated billions of dollars at the box office. Despite being a relatively young actor, he is fairly proficient in a number of languages and has a natural talent for doing expert acrobatic stunts, and excellent dance abilities, especially with an umbrella. The industry is a very dangerous place, it’s like walking on eggshells and one wrong move could hamper one’s career. It would have been the same for Holland, if not for his self-restraint.
The actor revealed that being sober for over six months helped him look at things a bit clearer. He felt like he could sleep better, and handle problems calmly, things that usually agitated him don’t trouble him anymore.
“I was drinking a lot and I decided to just give up for January […] All I could think about was having a drink and it just really scared me. I was like, maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing. So I sort of decided to punish myself and say I’ll do February as well. If I could do two months off then I could prove to myself I don’t have a problem.
I felt like I couldn’t be social. I felt like I couldn’t go to the pub. I couldn’t go out for dinner. I was really, really struggling and I started to really worry that maybe I had an alcohol problem. So I decided that I would wait until my birthday, which is June first, and by the time I had got to June first, I was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.”
Tom Holland went on to add that he had much better mental clarity, and his health was also up to the mark. Although the young actor partially blames his addiction on his British heritage, many wonder if it was because of his MCU mentor, Robert Downey Jr. As we all know, RDJ too had very rough initial days in the industry, and even went to jail for his drug addiction.

Ever since he was cast as Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr. has been a household figure in the entertainment industry. One of the key factors in advancing his career and reputation was his success as a character and how he helped the franchise soar. He is not unfamiliar with facing challenges in life, nor is it unfamiliar for him to prevail over them. Naturally, Downey did not anticipate falling into this trap either because addiction is not something that is a choice. There was no secret in his life about his battle with drugs and how it affected his acting career, but he overcame it to become the actor he is today.
