Mila Kunis has always stood out for her choice of film roles as well as her natural vibe while portraying characters. The star who catapulted to the big leagues in That 70’s Show, has many memorable films in her repertoire, including the critically acclaimed Black Swan with Natalie Portman. The celebrity has also had a penchant for adult comedies and has been successful in delivering hit blockbusters like Friends With Benefits in which she co-starred with pop singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake. While her sizzling chemistry with Timberlake was lauded, Kunis admitted that the film posed a few challenges.
Mila Kunis Requested a Body Double On Friends With Benefits Set
While Friends With Benefits gave Mila Kunis a great deal of popularity, the star was dissatisfied with a few details in the script, especially concerning the intimate scenes with Justin Timberlake. The Black Swan star was uncomfortable with the level of nudity that was incorporated into the screenplay and requested a body double for these scenes. Speaking of her reasons against over-exposure, Kunis said,
“I showed side-b*ob, and I figured I can’t just give away everything all at once. I gotta let it all out in little pieces here and there.”
Kunis’ co-star Justin Timberlake endorsed a different view regarding these intimate scenes. The singer said that he wanted to take advantage of his youth to showcase his body in films before old age could take over.
Mila Kunis Had A Blast On The Friends With Benefits Set
Despite initial trepidations about the script and the extent of nudity, actor Mila Kunis ended up having a memorable experience on the set of Friends With Benefits. Kunis stated that she was originally not on board with the story since she felt that the narrative was outdated for the current generation. But after a few changes were made, Kunis was convinced and wholeheartedly gave herself to the role. Speaking of the camaraderie she shared on set, the star stated,
“We were able to workshop it, re-write the script and tailor the characters to what we feel our generation is like now. A lot of the time you go to work then you have lunch by yourself and then you go back to work. There are those few movies where you actually sit down with your co-star and your director and have lunch together.”
Kunis and Timberlake’s easy chemistry was instrumental in Friends With Benefits connecting with audiences across the board. The rom-com also received decent reviews from critics while making a healthy profit. From an initial budget of $35 million, the film made $149.5 million.
