John Cena said he is trying to work hard to catch up with every successful actor in Hollywood

John Cena talked about his aspirations as an actor during an interview with GQ in 2022. The actor talked about his perspective on Hollywood and he also said that he wants to be in the race with other big actors of the industry. The Suicide Squad actor talked about the things which are difficult in the industry. While talking about Hollywood, Cena said,

“Well, the term Hollywood has such a mystique and luster around it. If you’re skilled at doing one thing, and then you transition into doing another — really, it sounds the same, but it’s a completely different thing. If you have any chance of success, you have to really, really prepare as much as you can.”

He further added,

“And if you feel you don’t have a head start, you’ve just got to put rubber to the road and work your ass off. So that’s kind of where I’m at, dipping my toes back into the screen side of entertainment rather than live events. And I realize I’ve got my work to do, and I’m just trying to work as hard as I can to catch up to everybody else.”

This statement by Cena got a lot of attention as many of his fans and Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock’s fans said he was pointing out his competition with Johnson in Hollywood.

John Cena apologized to Dwayne Johnson’s mother for his blatant statements

When The Rock announced his intention to leave WWE and pursue his film career, Cena made several remarks about the Baywatch actor. He made some controversial remarks about the 51-year-old actor but quickly apologized to his mother. Cena admitted in an interview that he apologized to Johnson’s mother. The 46-year-old actor said,

Dwayne could see not only how easy I was to work with but how adamant I was.… The moment the ice began to melt was right after the match when the first thing I did was apologize to his mom.” 

He further added,

I said, ‘Being in the business, I hope you understand, I just wanted to sell tickets. I’m sorry if I made you feel a certain way, that was not my intention. But also, from my perspective, it was like a surprise party, where if I told you the gig, it may be would have ruined some stuff.’ She gave me a great hug and said, ‘Thank you.”

The cold war between the two WWE stars has since ended, and according to sources, Johnson and Cena are now cordial. The Rock and the 46-year-old actor both are part of the Fast and Furious Franchise.
