Modern Family fame actress Sofia Vergara was recently in the news for her separation from her husband, Joe Manganiello. However, this isn’t the first time Vergara is facing such a tough time, as before tying the knot with Manganiello, Vergara was married to Joe Gonzalez. But unfortunately, her first marriage came to an end in just two years.
Her tragedies didn’t end there, as the actress got pregnant at just the age of 18. Being a teen mother, the actress raised her child alone; however, it wasn’t very easy to raise a child while managing her love life.
Sofia Vergara’s struggle with being a teen mom
Sofia Vergara got married to her childhood lover, Joe Gonzalez when she was just 18. Soon the actress got pregnant, and by the age of 19, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. The teen mom became a sensation at that time, and her modeling career also thrived. However, amidst this fame and popularity, Vergara’s marriage lost its spark, and after two years of marriage, the couple decided to part ways, leaving Vergara as a single mother.
The 51-year-old actress raised her child alone. Although Vergara certainly didn’t stop living her life after her divorce, the actress soon started seeing men. But, according to Vergara, it was never very easy to be a mother and to have a boyfriend at the same time.
During an interview with a news outlet, the actress shared that she had to meet her boyfriends in hotel rooms somewhere outside, as she could not invite them to her place because she wanted to avoid an awkward confrontation with his son. The actress said,
“For a long time, I lived alone with my son and only saw my boyfriends in a hotel.”
Though Vergara’s son is very dear to her after single parenting, she is certainly exhausted and has no plans to have kids in the future. Previously, when Vergara was dating politician Nick Loeb, her boyfriend expressed his desire to be a father to Vergara’s kids, but by the time the actress had made her decision.
Sofia Vergara’s hard luck in marriage
After parting ways with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez, in 1993, Sofia Vergara was linked with many men; however, it was in 2015 that she met her perfect suitor, Joe Manganiello. The actress married Manganiello on November 21, 2015. The couple didn’t shy away from showing their affection for each other in public, and their bond indeed looked like forever.
However, Vergara’s forever turned out to be a myth, as lately it was announced by the couple that they had decided to separate. After working on their marriage for seven years, the couple called it quits. The duo stated in an interview,
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for the respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
According to a court document obtained by a new outlet, it has been reported that the reason for their divorce was “irreconcilable differences” in their relationship.
