The ‘mystery woman’ of the 90s, Sharon Stone has come a long way in Hollywood from being a counter girl at McDonald’s to sharing the screen with the likes of Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Michael Douglas, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. She stepped into the film industry with her strong morals and a clear view of the legacy she wants to leave behind as she had been known for her incredibly ‘uncompromising’ personality.
During the initial days of her career, she had a lot of trouble bagging roles as she didn’t look ‘attractive enough’ to filmmakers. She almost thought of leaving Hollywood when her blessing came in the form of Arnold Schwarzenegger-led Total Recall in 1990.
After that, she got to become the leading lady in some of the top films during the 90s and early 2000s; such as Basic Instinct (1992), Casino (1995), Broken Flowers (2005), and Bobby (2006).
Sharon Stone’s Experiences With Cosmetic Surgery
As an industry that prefers youth, actors can hardly survive without going through some cosmetic procedure in their lifetime. Sharon Stone too was pushed hard into taking such treatments even as she stepped into her 50s.
In an interview with Vogue Arabia, she shared –
“I can’t tell you how many doctors have tried to sell me a facelift. Some almost talked me into it, but when I looked at my pictures, I thought – ‘What are they even going to lift?’”
“As I lost the fullness in my face, I rock these great cheekbones”, shared the actor who thinks that people also gain a lot as they age.
She has always preferred looking like a natural beauty as she thinks it’s more ‘sensual’ that way. She isn’t even remotely worried about how her face has changed over time, but hey – great cheekbones!
Stone’s Stroke Cost Her A Lot Of Relationships
Even as the actor shuns the idea of facial surgery and cosmetic treatments, she had to go through almost 300 botox shots after her nine-day stroke back in 2001. She feels it’s more of a ‘neurological need’ rather than a ‘face-saving’ one, quite literally!
About her romantic life, Sharon Stone disclosed how her ‘date’ back then dumped her as she was unwilling to go through any more of those toxic procedures.
In the same interview –
“I saw him one more time after that and then he wasn’t interested in seeing me anymore. If you don’t see me for more than that, find your way to the exit.”
As the 65-year-old actor embraced her middle-age, she feels she has become unstoppable ever since. According to her, there is always a chance for a whole ‘new chapter’ of your life, and we couldn’t agree more!
Sharon Stone will be seen as the antagonist in DC’s next Blue Beetle, slated for August 18, this year.
