Henry Cavill, the actor who did not give up on his dream of gaming seemed to have paid off for him pretty well. As per reports, before the Man of Steel actor was ever cast in the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, he did not even need to prepare for the role!

While talking about his passion for gaming in an interview, the actor recalled that he had not even prepared for the role of Geralt of Rivia because he was so well-versed in the Witcherverse. Stating that he essentially lived and breathed in that universe every day, Henry Cavill once again proved his worth of being the best Geralt of Rivia to exist.

Henry Cavill Did Not Even Prepare For Geralt of Rivia!

By creating his own gaming PCs and having the best games from around the world, Henry Cavill proudly called himself a gamer and people loved him for it. As the infamous story goes, the actor almost missed the role of Superman in Man of Steel because he was busy playing World of Warcraft when director Zack Snyder called.

Although it could have turned bad, the actor did get the role and was hailed as one of the best Supermans in the DCU ever. Another incident regarding gaming and projects that paid off very well for the actor was Netflix’s The Witcher. Talking about it in an interview, Henry Cavill stated that he did not even prepare for the role of Geralt of Rivia but he still got it in the end.

“I learned about these games, and then I learned about the books, and the universe of The Witcher began to mean so much to me right away. I didn’t even have to prepare for the role because I live and breathe in this universe every day.” 

After portraying the character for 3 seasons, the actor had to leave the franchise since he had a heated argument with showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich. Henry Cavill is also involved with a dream franchise of his that he plans to bring to the big screens alongside Amazon Studios.

With his exit from Netflix’s The Witcher and his removal as Superman from the DCU, Henry Cavill will truly get to live his gamer dream. From one of the most beloved franchises on Earth, the actor aims to bring the Warhammer 40,000 franchise onto the big screens.

As per speculated reports, the project is helmed by none other than Cavill who will also star in and is backed by Amazon Studios. The franchise has been the gamer dream for Cavill for years and he considers it to be his magnum opus. Although The Witcher actor is currently busy shooting his other projects, the Warhammer 40,000 franchise is indeed getting a series adaptation slowly but surely.

Henry Cavill can be seen in the role of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 1 and 2. The 3rd and upcoming season will be Cavill’s final season as the character of Geralt of Rivia after which Liam Hemsworth will take over as the leading role. The Witcher is available to stream on Netflix.
