Stranger Things star David Harbour has gone through quite a few rough patches to reach where he sits today. Talking about his iconic role in the 2019 movie Hellboy, the actor recalled the bad times and his eventual redemption as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things.

In an interview, David Harbour revealed that he keeps a photo of Hellboy‘s failed reboot starring himself to remind him where he came from. Being born to non-acting parents, Harbour retold the tale of his Hellboy journey while keeping mementos on his way.

David Harbour Keeps A Photo Of The Failed Hellboy Reboot

Being in a minor-ish role in the earlier seasons of Stranger Things, David Harbour was an underrated actor who went on to become a fan favorite. With an almost teary-eyed death during the finale of Stranger Things 3, the fans cried tears of joy when he was found in Russia in the 4th season of the show.

Talking about his career, David Harbour had many things to say and keep. In a YouTube video wherein they take a peek at Harbour & Lilly Allen’s house, a photo of the 2019 movie Hellboy was seen framed. Talking about his past, the Black Widow actor stated that he likes to remember where he came from.

While taking the camera crew to showcase his closet, David Harbour picked up a photo of his character of Hellboy from the 2019 movie.

“Just whenver I’m feeling particularly good about myself” said David Harbour while picking up his Hellboy photo, “I like to always remember where I came from”

The 2019 reboot of Hellboy starring David Harbour was received very negatively at the box office. Helmed by director Neil Marshall, the movie currently stands at a low rating of 17% on Rotten Tomatoes!

Following the Hellboy debacle, David Harbour had called Ryan Reynolds for advice since he starred in the infamous Green Lantern movie back in 2011. After Reynolds consoled him, David Harbour had his redeeming moment in the 3rd season of Stranger Things. 

Following his success, Harbour also starred as the Red Guardian when Marvel’s Black Widow was released in 2021. Being called an underrated actor, David Harbour may have his chance by portraying the role of Red Guardian in future MCU projects. The actor’s latest Christmas-action flick Violent Night also performed well as it gathered a strong 73% on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.7/10 on IMDb.

David Harbour is expected to return for the 5th and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things. With a mission to end it all, Stranger Things season 5 is not expected to air for quite a while. David Harbour is expected to portray the role of Red Guardian again when Thunderbolts releases. The project’s details are currently kept under wraps as it is currently in the pre-production stage.
