After meeting on the set of the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor and starring in the 2003 film Daredevil, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner fell in love and tied the knot in 2005. They parted ways in 2015 and finalized their divorce three years later. However, the two remain close and still have a good relationship as they co-parent their children. Despite everything going smoothly for the two, even after their split, the former couple did not share the screen after their 2003 film together.
Over the years, Affleck has not only become a highly acclaimed actor but has also impressed everyone with his work behind the camera, producing two Oscar-winning films. And although he wished to work with his ex-wife, the Alias actress had some issues when it came to featuring in her ex’s films.

Jennifer Garner Refused to Work With Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have starred in two films so far, both of which did not get a warm reception either at the box office or among critics. It is claimed to be the reason for the former couple not starring in a film together. However, Affleck, who has directed award-winning movies, expressed his desire to direct a film starring his ex-wife.
But the Yes Day actress didn’t seem interested in his offer, as she believed that he was a slow director. “I don’t want to because he is not the world’s fastest director,” she stated while saying that she also wants to go home and take care of her kids.
“I like to get in and do my work and go home and put the kids to bed. I’m afraid there would be this moment where I would say, ‘OK. You’ve got it. I promise you it is in the can. I’ve got to go home.'”
However, she did not deny any future possibilities, saying, “But you know, life is long, and I never say never.” She shared that she is proud of the Argo star while stating that he is brilliant at his work and knows what he’s doing. Although she is not interested in working with him, Affleck once wanted to make a film with Garner.
Ben Affleck Would Have Loved to Make a Film With His Ex-Wife
During an interview with People, Ben Affleck shared that he would have loved to make a film with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. He shared that it would be great to work with his ex-wife, as she is a great actress and is able to give incredible performances.
“I would love to, are you kidding me? I think that would be great. I’ve often said that I want to direct a movie that Jennifer was in because I think she’s so great and she could do something really cool.”
However, he also shared both of them working together on the same project could have caused conflicts for their kids, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, as one of them needed to be home to look after the kids as well. While they have not been seen together on-screen since Daredevil, Garner was open to the idea of working with Affleck, and hopefully, fans would get to witness the collaboration sometime in the future.
