Ocean’s 8 comprised a stellar all-female star cast that had some of the most renowned females in the industry. Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Cate Blanchett all accompanied Mindy Kaling in the heist flick which served as a spin-off to the George Clooney-led trilogy.

When The Proposal fame appeared along with Mindy Kaling in an interview with The New York Times, it was revealed how the Velma fame tried hard to hide her pregnancy. As per the 43-year-old actress, when the co-stars went to dinner, Bullock and Paulson tried hard to make her order a cocktail. But Kaling was two weeks pregnant and didn’t want to reveal it to the team due to her superstitious beliefs.

Sandra Bullock added that the Never Have I Ever creator gave some vague excuses like she is on certain “antibiotics” and “antipsychotics” to her co-stars in her desperate attempt to avoid drinking. Mindy Kaling added that she had to spin a web of lies due to her beliefs.

“I had to spin a web of lies. I just wish I had been able to actually drink with them.”

But the Oscar-winning actress was kind enough to defend Kaling and added that it is not superstitious and often people are reluctant to announce their pregnancy before the first trimester. Ocean’s 8 received positive responses for the performances and the fans are all up for a sequel but according to Sandra Bullock, there are specific demands which need to be fulfilled.

Although we have recently received updates about a prequel Ocean’s project starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling set in the backdrop of the 1960s, Sandra Bullock also gave hopeful updates on the Ocean’s 8 sequel. The actress openly wanted a complete overhaul of creators despite already having an Oscar-nominated director.

During a press meeting of The Lost City, the 58-year-old actress revealed that they had an active text chain among themselves but need a badass female director and writer to deliver an excellent story.

“Well, the nice thing is, we still have our text chain. So our text chain’s still very active. You need to coordinate people’s schedules, find a badass female director, an incredible female writer and come up with a story that no one would expect, that only women could pull off.”
