Actress Salma Hayek is one of the most iconic and talented stars in the entertainment industry. Fans have been expecting Hayek to star in The White Lotus, alongside Sydney Sweeney, because of her friendship with the show’s creator Mike White, however, Hayek recently explained that she has no plans of being a part of it.

There were rumors that actress Salma Hayek is planning to join the comedy/drama series The White Lotus, because she has worked with the show’s writer, Mike White, in the past. The actress, who is a huge fan of the show, recently appeared on Kelly Ripa’s SiriusXM Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast and talked about working with Mike White,
“I would do anything with Mike. I have a fantasy of acting with Mike. We’re so good together. Oh, he’s a fantastic actor. We’re very funny together. He’s a very, very dear friend.”
In 2017, Salma Hayek played the role of Beatriz in director Miguel Arteta’s Beatriz at Dinner, which was written by Mike White. Hayek only agreed to star in the movie because it was written by Mike White.
Salma Hayek doesn’t want to star in any TV shows or movies
Further in the interview, Hayek explained that she is reluctant to star in TV shows or movies because she wants to spend more time with her daughter. The actress said,
“I can’t, even though I’m trying to carve out more space. I can’t like say, ‘OK, bye. I’m gonna do a series. See you in three months, in four months.’ I just can’t.'”
Hayek has one biological daughter and three stepchildren. In 2007, she welcomed daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault with her then-fiancé François-Henri Pinault.
Salma Hayek gained popularity in the late 1990s
Hayek initially appeared in several Mexican TV shows, looking for her big break. Finally, she bagged a role in 1993’s Mi Vida Loca, marking the beginning of her film career. The actress then began to gain traction as she was able to captivate audiences with her performances in movies like Fair Game (1995), Fled (1996), and Breaking Up (1997).
The shift in her career came in 2002 after she played Frida Kahlo in the biographical drama film Frida. Since then, Hayek has dominated the entertainment industry with her remarkable acting skills.
