The first episode of The Last of Us finally premiered on the 15th of January and managed to surpass all expectations. It marked a new legacy for the iconic PlayStation franchise while setting up the tone for the rest of the show.

The show at the moment rates at 99% on the tomato meter with 93 critics, and an astounding 9.6 IMDB rating with more than ten thousand ratings, even beating the highest-rated Marvel show Daredevil.
The post-apocalyptic show doesn’t fall short of its source material as it leaves fans in awe through its post-apocalyptic landscape. The portrayal of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsay as Ellie couldn’t have been better as they perfectly reflect the essence of their video game counterparts.

Even though most video game adaptations don’t live up to their adaptations, The Last of Us sure did break the video game curse and doesn’t only live up to its predecessor’s quality, but exceeds them with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay bringing the video game characters to life.
The creator of the game, Neil Druckmann shared his gratitude to the fans for their love and support of the show. He also shared his respect for the team who put their passion and dedication towards the property to bring the iconic characters and storyline from one art form to another. His tweet stated,

The fans also shared their abundant love for the adaptation of their beloved game, and Twitter erupted as they can’t stop raving about the PlayStation game-turned-show. The fans respected the creator’s decision to keep the story similar, except for a few improvisations. The fans called this show the most faithful adaptation and can’t wait for the next episodes to drop.
