Being an actor who doesn’t like to curse, Will Smith was left with no choice other than to embrace the character and go on a cursing rampage. In an interview, the actor revealed that he had no other choice but to embrace the setting of the story and the environment and he had to become Mike Lowery in order to get the movie done.

“We’re playing narcotics agents in Miami so that’s a really dark, grungy world and I wanted to commit to it. Even on the set, I was struggling a little bit with the foul language but I decided if you’re gonna play this character you just gotta close your eyes and one hundred percent commit to it,”

The actor further revealed that the hardest scene he had to do involved him cursing at a teenager. As per the Men in Black actor, things got really uncomfortable when he imagined his mother watching the film. Smith wished that he could get a reality pass on that part since he had to commit to the character.

“I just had to commit to the reality of the dialogue of that character. Every father wishes that he could do and say exactly that so I hope I get a reality pass on that one,”

In other talks, Will Smith’s career has been on the verge of collapsing ever since the infamous Oscar slap incident. Despite this, actress Vivica A. Fox remembered the actor, and how she felt his absence while shooting Independence Day: Resurgence.

Starring in the 1996 classic movie, the Aladdin actor portrayed the role of Capt. Steven Hiller in Independence Day. In the sequel titled Independence Day: Resurgence, none missed Smith more so than actress Vivica A. Fox.

“I really feel we missed out by not bringing Will Smith back. We had most of the original cast on, but I think the one true link that was missing to the success of ‘Independence Day 2’ was that Will Smith wasn’t there.”

Independence Day: Resurgence received a low rating of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. With Will Smith cursing for 2 hours, Bad Boys II is available to stream on Starz Apple TV channel.
