The three films in the Ocean’s trilogy were all box office hits, collectively grossing over $1.1 billion worldwide. The star-studded cast of the movies also included Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts.
Clooney once revealed how he sent Ocean’s Eleven‘s script to Julia Roberts, who was earning $20 million per film at the time. The actor also explained that it was “spectacular” working with Roberts. Overall, the chemistry between all the celebrities in the movie was entertaining.

In 2020, actor George Clooney appeared for an interview with GQ and talked about his most iconic characters. During the interview, the actor revealed that he sent Julia Roberts a $20 bill along with Ocean’s Eleven‘s script,
“I remember Julia. I didn’t know her, I’d never met her and she was making $20 million a film, and we just talked Brad into doing it, and Matt into doing it, and we wanted Julia to do it. So I put a $20 bill on a script and I sent it to her and I said, ‘I hear you get 20 a picture now.'”
Julia Roberts played the role of Tess Ocean, Danny Ocean’s ex-wife, in the movie. Further in the interview, the actor explained that it was “spectacular” working with Roberts.
The actor said there was no “ego” while filming the movie
Ocean’s Eleven‘s cast included some big names like Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle. In the same interview, Clooney talked about working with all these actors,
“There’s a fun thing about that gang that there was literally no ego involved in it. There’s a funny thing you see, and you can see it in the way that the scenes play. There was no actor in those scenes trying to steal scenes. They’re all kind of actively trying to hand it to the other guy.”
The actor also added that working with everyone felt “very easy and fun” as they also strolled around Las Vegas while filming the movie.
Ocean’s trilogy grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide
This first movie in the Ocean’s trilogy, Ocean’s Eleven, was a blockbuster hit as it grossed about $450 million around the world. The second and third movies, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, were released in 2004 and 2007 respectively. The two movies were able to keep up with the hype as they earned a combined total of $674 million. The first movie was a masterpiece. The second one was slightly disappointing, but the creators were able to revive the franchise with the third movie.
