While trying to adhere to the beauty standards set by Hollywood and the people, Amanda Seyfried had no choice but to stay in shape. With various popular projects like As The World Turns and her breakthrough role in Mean Girls, Seyfried opened up about her trying to maintain body standards for a healthy career.
In an interview, the actress revealed that if she didn’t run or work out, she would lose some pivotal roles in Hollywood. With the fear of being rejected for being “fat”, Amanda Seyfried got very candid yet controversial for her statements about beauty standards.
Amanda Seyfried Is Afraid of Being Rejected By Hollywood
With her breakthrough role as Karen Smith in the 2004 classic movie Mean Girls, Amanda Seyfried found a stable footing in Hollywood. Over the years, the actress starred in various iconic roles such as in Mamma Mia!, The Droupout and Jennifer’s Body.
With the beauty standards that Hollywood has kept for actors and actresses, Seyfried is none too happy about it. While being bold, the actress revealed that she has to run and do work out if she wants future roles in the film industry. Taking a dig at the body-shaming, Seyfried had also tweeted that she might have lost several notable roles of her career if she was fat.
“If I didn’t run and work out, there’s no way I would be this thin. But I have to stay in shape because I’m an actress. It’s f***ed up and it’s twisted, but I wouldn’t get the roles otherwise. If I’d been a bit bigger, I don’t think they would have cast me for Mamma Mia!“
The actress also tweeted the following in the year 2014 as she took a dig at the mentality of the people.
“Fun fact: I almost lost out on several roles in my career because I was overweight. Wrong, America.”
While living the quiet life, Amanda Seyfried also revealed that doing exercises was a must for the good vibes that she wants. In a joking manner, the actress said that eating food is what makes life worth living.
Amanda Seyfried Wants to Star in the Mean Girls Remake
As every movie from the late 90s to the early 2000s gets a remake, the classic hit Mean Girls is no exception. Rachel McAdams, Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried are interested in reprising their roles in the modern remake of the classic tale of the Plastics.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Ted 2 actress talked about her plans for a cameo in the remake and how she has it all planned out.
“I’m still hoping for a miracle. It’s not really up to us, is it? All four of us are 100 percent into it,” she said, adding that she already has a cameo idea. “Maybe the mothers of our characters? That’s what I was thinking, but listen, I have not even seen the script.”
With Mean Girls receiving a whopping 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, a remake of the movie will surely be interesting to watch. The people hope desperately that the remake does not end up like the infamous HBO show Velma that completely butchered the Scooby gang.
