Words can hardly describe the immense popularity that Attack on Titan has attained throughout its run. Although the seasons of this series may have arrived with prolonged intervals, it appears that this long-lasting anime is finally approaching the conclusion that fans have longed for.
The reasons behind this fervor are quite evident, thanks to the astonishing plot twists and intricate developments that the manga has unveiled over time.
The series is teeming with some of the most jaw-dropping moments and breathtaking revelations ever witnessed in anime.
With numerous awesome moments, it’s very difficult to choose just one from among them. But the artist behind this epic series, Hajime Isayama has a favorite scene from the series. No, not when Eren transformed into a titan, but another iconic scene renowned for its stunning revelations.
Creator Hajime Isayama’s Favorite Jaw-Dropping Revelations in Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan, originally introduced as a manga by artist Hajime Isayama, the mangaka has been actively engaging in discussions about the series following its manga conclusion.
Isayama took part in an interview where he shared his favorite scene from the series, a moment renowned for its jaw-dropping revelations.
During the K MANGA launch party, Isayama disclosed that his favorite moment from Attack on Titan was when Reiner and Bertholdt unveiled their identities as the Armored and Colossal Titans, respectively. In his own words:
It’s when Reiner reveals his true self. I was in Kodansha’s storyboarding room when that scene came to me after thinking at my desk for hours. I was very excited when I came up with the idea. I have a deep attachment to how I made that great scene.
This particular moment took many anime fans by surprise due to its sudden and straightforward revelation.
Reiner and Bertholdt Revealed Their Identity
The favorite scene of mangaka Hajime Isayama features the capture of Annie, during which Hange disclosed her suspicions to the group that the Armored and Colossal Titans were likely Reiner and Bertholdt.
However, before the Survey Corps could attempt to apprehend these two individuals, Reiner decided to take action, driven by a sort of mental breakdown.
In a final desperate bid to abduct Eren, Reiner and Bertholdt transformed in what has become one of the standout moments in the anime. The ensuing battle was a spectacular spectacle to behold, even though it ultimately concluded with the defeat of the Survey Corps.
Although a precise release date for the final episode of Attack on Titan has not been disclosed, the anime adaptation confirmed that it will arrive in late 2023. Given the harrowing events of the penultimate episode that aired earlier this year, fans should brace themselves for significant character deaths as the series draws to a close.
Isayama has been resolute in his stance that there won’t be a sequel or spin-off to the series. However, the director’s cut of the final chapter does leave the door open for a potential return to the Attack on Titan universe.
