Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy has a secret wish

Peaky Blinders fame Murphy’s big-budget and star-studded film, Oppenheimer will release this month. The actor is very excited yet overwhelmed with the outcome of his hard work in the past years. Murphy plays the protagonist, the infamous theoretical physicist named J. Robert Oppenheimer.

In an interview with E! News, the actor shared his experience watching the movie for the first time.

“The first frame of the movie that I saw was the first trailer and then when I finally got to see the finished film it was completely overwhelming, but because there had been a gap between wrapping the movie and watching it. I suppose I had some distance. I hate looking at myself I don’t really know any actor that enjoys the experience, but I was completely blown away. It’s a truly essential cinematic immersive experience, like Chris said it’s like it’s 3D without the 3D glasses, particularly in an IMAX and I felt that.”

The actor further shared his unique desire for the film,

“I would like to watch it maybe once more with an audience. For me, it’s the best way to experience a film, in a darkened space with strangers and there’s no interruption. You’re not going to answer the door, you’re not going to make a cup of tea. You’re just invested and you paid your money you got your snacks and you’re there. There’s something hugely romantic about it to me.”

The story of the film is about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who assisted in developing the first nuclear weapons.

Talking about his collaboration with Nolan, the actor said,

“I’ve learned so much from him, it’s kind of my life, my career and professional life working with Chris, and I hope I continue.”

“I think he’s kind of the ideal director because he writes his movies, he directs the movies, he produces the movies. He’s incredible visually, and he is extraordinary with actors. It’s very few directors have all those talents in one person. I have seen him change over the course of working with him I guess he’s become more and more confident in the sorts of stories that he wants to tell, and I think he’s more confident in making films within the studio system that actually challenge the audience.”

The film comprises a talented cast, with Cillian Murphy as the title character, with a supporting team of Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, and Kenneth Branagh.

Oppenheimer will release in theatres worldwide on July 21.
