Sometimes, actors suffer mental breakdowns, while appearing in horror films, and this was just the case with Jennifer Lawrence. However, she did not require a vacation to rest up after filming Mother! because she could cheer herself up in between takes with a Keeping Up with the Kardashians tent.
For the unversed, Darren Aronofsky’s psychological horror film followed the story of a young woman whose peaceful life with her husband was disturbed by the appearance of a mysterious couple.
Well, the Kardashians are accustomed to being in the spotlight, and there is no denying their influence in a variety of media. Although it might seem unexpected at first, they are connected to Jennifer Lawrence and her highly regarded movie.

Jennifer Lawrence Had to ‘Bring The Kardashians’ While Filming Mother!
Even the most seasoned actors can suffer from the strain of performing in a psychologically intense and emotionally taxing film like Darren Aronofsky‘s Mother! The Kardashians unexpectedly turned out to be Jennifer Lawrence‘s solace and relief from the intensely grim nature of her role.
The 33-year-old actress was questioned about the need for “a huge vacation” after working on such a taxing film during a previous visit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She said:
“I’ve said it before, but I got to such a low point in this film [Mother!], and going into such a dark place that I eventually had to bring the Kardashians in. Not in person, obviously.”
The Oscar-winning actress went on to provide a brief explanation of the setup:
“I’ve never done something that horrifying so I started getting scared a couple days before and I was like, ‘I need a tent just to be away from all of the extras,’ because I didn’t know what I would do, and then eventually one Kardashian came and then another Kardashian came, but it was just a computer that was playing the Kardashians and their headshots and it also had little notes to me, from them, that I had written.”
Jennifer Lawrence Said Mother! Was ‘Realistic Relationship Movie’
The days Jennifer Lawrence spent filming Mother! were exhausting both physically and mentally. But even so, the actress can not help but appreciate the movie. In an interview with Vogue, she said:
“The themes are just huge. I can’t use the word I want to use, but the movie is unique. I think [Mother!] works as a truthful, realistic relationship movie… but also works on an allegorical plane. Different people will see it different ways, and I’m always inspired by films you remember and are still talking about a few days later.”
It is unusual for famous actors like Lawrence to have gone through three months of rehearsals with the rest of the cast before filming started. She even claimed that the extended rehearsal period allowed her to become the most “in tune” with her character that she had ever been, while Darren Aronofsky referred to it as “an amazing luxury”.
Lawrence, according to Aronofsky, did not give her full performance until the cameras were rolling, he added:
“She’s in a very Zen, peaceful gear. It’s such a raw, natural talent she has. I always kind of compare her to Michael Jordan.”
Given how intense she can become for the role, she had to
“Go to a darker place than I have ever been in my life. I ended up getting on oxygen. I have oxygen tubes in my nostrils, and Darren’s like, ‘It was out of focus; we’ve got to do it again.’ And I was just like, ‘Go f**k yourself.’”
With a $30 million budget, Mother! made $44.5 million in global box office revenue. Kristen Wiig, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, and Brian Gleeson also starred in the movie.
