Shooting intimate sequences can often become uncomfortable and difficult for certain actors, and in Blake Lively’s case, things aren’t much different, especially during her time in Ben Affleck’s The Town. Back in 2010, The Town opened to rave reviews and garnered massive appreciation from fans and critics, thanks to its incredible cast, involving Jeremy Runners, Blake Lively, etc.
However, for Lively, her first day on the job was far from usual, as the first scene she was going to film, involved an intimate sequence with Ben Affleck, leaving the actress in an awkward situation on her arrival.

Apart from being the man behind the lens for The Town, Ben Affleck also starred as the lead in the film. And following Blake Lively‘s arrival on set, her first day at the job involved a s*x scene with the lead and director Affleck. But filming an intimate scene with the director on her very first day at the job was reasonably awkward for the actress, but it did help in breaking the ice between the two Hollywood A-listers. She explained,
“But the s-x scene was really awkward. It was my first day, so thank you for that. I guess it was good to break the ice,”
Although the process of crafting the intimate scene was extremely uncomfortable from Lively’s perspective, for Affleck, it wasn’t awkward in the slightest, as he showered the Gossip Girl star with praise.

Apart from being an exceptional performer in front of the camera, Ben Affleck has also cemented himself as an acclaimed filmmaker, with his recent work Air being held high among critics. And this isn’t the first time the actor has showcased his skills behind the lens, as back in the late 2000s, movies, including Gone Baby Gone and 2010’s The Town garnered him extreme appreciation.
But amongst the many talented performers he collaborated with for his The Town, Blake Lively stood out among all of them to the actor, as he had nothing but admiration for the actress’ skills. But contrary to the actress’ comments, he claimed she was “very poised and comfortable about it – more mature than some of the crew members.”
In hindsight, the steamy scene between the two did end up being essential to the overall story of the film, ending the intense connection between the two characters.
