During the interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Tom Hanks revealed that one of his initial jobs was selling peanuts and soda at the iconic sports venue. He had high hopes, imagining the experience to be like a scene from a TV show, with a young kid trying to make something out of it.
“I went down to sell peanuts and soda,” he shared. “[I was] thinking it would be like in a TV show where you saw the young kid trying to make a thing.”
While it might appear to be an ideal job for a young man in theory, Hanks admitted that he has some particularly unpleasant memories linked to that gig.
“Well, first of all, I got robbed twice,” Hanks said. “Note to self: Hide those wads of cash. Don’t be walking with a wad of cash in your pocket. Then, I came across professional vendors, who did not like the fact kids were there.”
Hanks further disclosed that he faced harassment from some of the older vendors, who were not pleased with having to split their earnings with a young boy.
