“The media gave up on me because I was so boring. What sells magazines is sex and scandal. Everybody knows I’m married and a dad, and relatively free of scandal, it’s not worth their money to sit outside my house. They also know I’ll wait them out,”
Therefore, living a relatively easy-going life, the star has made himself somewhat immune to unwanted attention, although, it might not be a good thing in every situation.

Security Once Failed To Recognize Matt Damon And Physically Immobilized Him
A life filled with no attention from the press and no scandals or rumors has managed to keep Damon’s name rather low-key in the industry, but it also has managed to create problems for him in the past. On one instance, while promoting their then-upcoming film Ocean’s Eleven, he and his co-star Brad Pitt were in Monaco where they were entering the Grand Prix. Here, the security was able to recognize Pitt immediately but failed when they saw Damon. The Air star recalled the incident, saying:
“It was absolute madness. I got arm-barred by security and I had to say, ‘I’m with Brad!’ It was one of the most messed up things I’ve ever seen… but Brad’s pulse didn’t go above 50. It was like he was going grocery shopping. I held onto my wife.”
While the boon of an unpopular life may have its merits, this incident also gives you an idea of what other outcomes may occur when dealing with certain situations.
