Actor Tom Cruise has managed to captivate the audience with his action-packed movies in the last four decades. Since the very beginning of his career, the actor has remained an icon who is known for his adrenaline-rushing scenes combined with a compelling storyline. He is well-known for performing most of his stunts himself, however, there is one thing that he’s doing all wrong.
In one of his past interviews, it was revealed that Cruise barely gets any sleep. His cast and crew members made this specific observation about him. The habit is quite unhealthy and may cause some major issues in the long run.

It was once revealed that Tom Cruise doesn’t sleep. One of his cast members revealed that they have seen the actor sleeping only twice in 17 years of working together. As per the cast member, once was on a flight to Japan and the second was in a zero-gravity bed. The actor was once asked if he “ever sleeps” and he replied,
“You know what, I try not to. I think I don’t sleep, I go unconscious, that’s what happens. It’s like, I love my days start early and they go early.”
Getting enough sleep is really important, especially if you’re an action movie star like Tom Cruise. Shooting scenes all day does get extremely exhausting, so why does the actor refuse to sleep?
Why does Tom Cruise avoid sleeping?
In 2015, Cruise explained why he doesn’t sleep when he appeared on the red carpet at Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation‘s London premiere. The actor said,
“I have trained my whole life, constantly, whether it’s drama or action. I don’t sleep much and I love what I do so I’m working many long hours. I’ve been doing it for so long, and I never take anything for granted. When we come up with things, there’s so many on every film I can’t include them all.”
Without a doubt, Cruise loves his job. Even at the age of 61, the actor has continued to give his fans remarkable performances in blockbuster hits.

Cruise has been in the headlines lately because of his latest Mission: Impossible movie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The movie received positive reviews, however, there was something that kept Cruise up all night. In an interview with TotalFilm, director Christopher McQuarrie revealed that Cruise was not satisfied with the ending,
“Where we ended the movie was always where we were going to end it. How we ended the movie was a big, big mystery for us, It kept Tom awake at night throughout production. He would come in all the time and say, ‘This can’t be a cliffhanger, it’s got to be satisfying.’ The audience has to feel a sense of completion.”
The second part of the movie is all set to release in 2024. There are several rumors that Cruise will very soon leave the role behind. His influence on cinema has been quite huge and he has stated that he has no plans to retire any time soon.
