Irrespective of Ryan Reynolds’ natural charm and humor, even he had a breakout on the set of his 2011 film, alongside Olivia Wilde. Well, the pressure was extreme even for Reynolds, that got him all awkward while filming intimate scenes with Wilde. Evidently, it was quite a struggle even for the people behind the cameras.
Reflecting upon his 2011 movie, The Change-Up, Ryan Reynolds showed true bravery in discussing the awkward situation he had while filming s*x scenes with his co-star, Olivia Wilde. Speaking about the difficulties he faced, the actor confessed to forgetting all his lines while shooting the scene.
Ryan Reynolds Broke Character During S-x Scene With Olivia Wilde
Just like the rest of us, even Ryan Reynolds felt the pressure during a particularly intimate scene with his co-star. Admitting to feeling awkward while filming raunchy scenes with Olivia Wilde during their 2011 movie The Change-Up, Reynolds mentioned going through quite the struggle alongside Wilde.
Gathering his courage to speak about the behind-the-scenes from his 2011 movie, Ryan Reynolds reflected upon the time when he broke his character. Claiming to be taken aback by Olivia Wilde’s smilie-painted underwear, the actor confessed forgetting all of his lines.
“In the scene, she’s sitting there and I take her top off and the bra off, and she has those panties on, but she’s drawn these adorable little smiley faces on them. And I forget every line. Not just from this movie, but from every other movie I’ve done.” Ryan Reynolds admitted.
Although the Deadpool actor was previously quite proud of his acting skills and never breaking his character, eventually lost his dignity. “I actually used to pride myself on the fact that I could not break in a scene” the actor recalled. But eventually, he mentioned how the embarrassing scene “turned it into an actual disability” for him.
Ryan Reynolds And Olivia Wilde’s 2011 The Change-Up
Despite falling short and breaking character, Ryan Reynolds had a fun time on set, filming his 2011 movie alongside Olivia Wilde, Leslie Mann, and Jason Bateman. However, The Change-Up failed to impress its audiences like it should have, with its feel-good storyline. The movie thus ended up being a financial failure after hitting the theatres.
Ryan Reynolds and Olivia Wilde‘s The Change-Up brought $75M off a large budget of $52M. The film was a lighthearted one that attracted casual movie-goers and thus failed to earn a reputation of its own in the industry. Being a lesser-known film, The Change-Up acquired a 25% approval rating, since Rotten Tomatoes was less than impressed.
The movie even made the actor feel like a teenager since he had a tough time filming s*x scenes with his co-star. Forgetting his lines, feeling uncomfortable and awkward, the intimate scene made Reynolds feel like an idiot, despite having years of experience in the entertainment industry. But truth be told, the actors maintained a good attitude throughout the movie and delivered one heck of a hilarious story.
The Change-Up streaming now on Netflix.
