Nicolas Cage has garnered quite a fan following thanks to his peculiar ways. Not only is the actor known for his peculiar choice of roles, but Cage is also every bit peculiar in real life as his characters have been on screen.
The star already has his own tomb erected in New Orleans. The Ghost Rider star, thus, has made some very questionable decisions and choices. Back in 2010, he revealed his weird eating habits that left the actor’s fans shocked.
Nicolas Cage’s Bizarre Diet
Nicolas Cage has probably one of the most bizarre diets in the world. While his eating habits aren’t as bizarre (as far as we know), his criterion for choosing his ‘food’ certainly is. The Oscar-winning actor had revealed previously that he would only consume the meat of animals that mate dignifiedly. Hence, the actor is fond of having fish or poultry since they tend to mate more honorably. Speaking about his fascination for animals, he said
“I have a fascination with fish, birds, whales – sentient life – insects, reptiles.”
He then explains his criteria for choosing his food,
“I actually choose the way I eat according to the way animals have s*x. I think fish are very dignified with s*x. So are birds. But pigs, not so much. So I don’t eat pig meat or things like that. I eat fish and fowl.”
Well, his fascination for animals is not restricted to his food choices. The star has a tattoo of a lizard with a top hat, once owned a pet octopus, and even went ahead to eat a cockroach for his role in a movie.

Nicolas Cage As Superman In The Flash
DC’s The Flash certainly has its bit of surprises. With Michael Keaton‘s return, Barry Allen traversing through the multiverse along with his other version, and General Zod once again in action, there is another hidden surprise. And it is Nicolas Cage as Superman.
As Ezra Miller‘s Flash travels across multiple realities, one can spot many versions of Batman, Superman, and other DC characters. In one instance, viewers can spot Nicolas Cage in a heavily CGI Superman suit, engaged in a fierce battle with a gigantic spider.
But why Nicolas Cage, one might ask? The reason is that the short cameo serves as a reference to the canceled movie Superman Lives from the 1990s, in which the National Treasure star was all set to don the Krytonian’s cape. Known for his admiration for the DC hero, Cage finally got the opportunity to play Superman, even if it was only for a brief half-minute.
The Flash is in theatres now.
