Tom Cruise is one actor who has a brilliant experience in his career. From an up-and-coming young actor to one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. His journey has been one that has inspired many people. The actor has never stopped once since he took off and things were growing for him fast. There is nothing the actor would say no to, whether it is a big movie or a dangerous stunt.
Due to his determination, he has been credited with saving Hollywood. Some of the biggest movies have his name on it and there is no doubt that he works extremely hard to make sure his movies turn out the way that he intends. Although he’s a massive actor right now, he did not start off that way.
Tom Cruise Was An Enthusiastic Actor Even For His First Movie
Tom Cruise entered the Hollywood industry at the mere age of 19 years old. When he first did the movie, he did not immediately sprout as a big movie star. Instead, it took him another couple of years. Taps became the movie that gave him a boost and the confidence that he always needed.
“I drove everyone crazy. The director Harold Becker was so lovely to me because he knew I was so passionate. He let me go see rushes. Actors didn’t really go to rushes back then, where you see what’s shot the day before. So he set it up so I could see it. He’d say, ‘These takes are going to be in the movie.’ He was very generous.”
He was more than glad to see that the director valued his curiosity and let him hang around for shoots on days when he wasn’t required to come. He understood the passion that Cruise had and was ready to see him go further in his career.
Tom Cruise Knew He Wanted To Act Since The Age Of 4
Tom Cruise was the guy who taught himself how to act ever since he was a child. He went to movie theatres with the money he saved and bought himself tickets. He focused on how it wasn’t as if film schools were as available as they are now so he had to make do with what he had.
“I used to cut grass and had all kinds of odd jobs to give money to my family, but also to save money so I could go to the movies. You didn’t have YouTube and we didn’t have film school. That was my film school.”
The actor also noted how he used to do odd jobs just to make sure he helped at home and had enough to go watch movies at the same time.
