Clint Eastwood has had an illustrious career in Hollywood spanning over decades. The Mule actor first gained recognition through his roles in the ‘Blood Money’ trilogy and later became a critically acclaimed actor and director. With his roles centered around stylish and heroic male characters, the Unforgiven actor is often considered the cultural icon of masculinity.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly actor appeared on The Ellen Show back in 2010, where the host Ellen DeGeneres recounted some aspects of his life that made him a cool person. The host was establishing a point as she recalled his ‘cool guy’ stories.
Clint Eastwood Was Voted America’s Coolest Person
Ellen DeGeneres initially shared a story about a friendly squirrel on Clint Eastwood’s property. The host then presented a video of the squirrel entering the Dirty Harry actor’s office and helping itself to peanuts. DeGeneres mentioned that the squirrel did not even flinch when the camera got close, showing how friendly it was.
The Rookie actor confirmed the host’s claim that he shares sandwiches with the squirrel. This prompted DeGeneres to reveal a survey that named Clint Eastwood as America’s coolest person. She asked whether the True Crime actor was aware of this survey, to which Eastwood responded, “I don’t know who did this. But thank you.”
Ellen DeGeneres further revealed that the Absolute Power actor surpassed the likes of President Obama, George Clooney, Justin Timberlake, and The Situation to reach the top spot.
Clint Eastwood Didn’t Know Who (Or What) The Situation Was
When Ellen DeGeneres revealed that he was cooler than The Situation, Clint Eastwood was visibly confused. Catching on this confusion, DeGeneres asked whether the Space Cowboys actor knew who The Situation was and Eastwood replied he didn’t know the $300K rich personality. Finally, the host showed him a picture, and the Million Dollar Baby actor remarked that he agreed with people considering him cooler than The Situation.
Michael Sorrentino, popularly known as The Situation, is famous for his appearance in the MTV reality show, Jersey Shore. Sorrentino currently continues to appear in the revival sequel to the show, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The Situation was at his peak during the time of The Ellen Show and was popular among American television audiences.
Clint Eastwood is undeniably one of the legendary actors of our times. The former Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea has four Academy Awards to his name, winning Best Picture and Best Director for his movies, Unforgiven in 1992 and Million Dollar Baby in 2004.
