Blake Lively felt like a man because of her height
As per the reports, The Shallows actress is quite tall, with a height of 5 feet 10 inches. The actress was almost always the tallest girl in the room, and when she wears heels, she literally towers over all her peers. The actress shared in a 2009 interview with Allure about being insecure at times due to her above-average height. She said,
“I don’t know, I’m … large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man. I’ve got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I’m surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes.”
However, The Town star wouldn’t have to worry about being tall against her husband, Ryan Reynolds, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall.
Blake Lively recalls being called the Big Bird in school
Being a tall girl at school can be a very difficult phase in life as the other kids often make jokes and say mean things which more than often affects the tall child. Such was the case with The Rhythm Section star also. She shared in an interview that she was a bit insecure about her height when she was a small child.
Blake Lively shared that she often dealt with others teasing her because of how tall she was and making fun of her by giving her nicknames. However, the actress posted a picture online, which proved that she has made peace with her past. In the photo, Lively is seen standing next to Sesame Street’s Big Bird, the name with which she was teased in her childhood.
She wrote in the captions,
“Kids used to make fun of me in elementary school by calling me Big Bird (because I was ‘too tall’ and had ‘yellow’ hair). Here’s to making best buddies with the things that once hurt you.”
The Gossip Girl alum, 35, will be soon starring in the film adaption of Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends with Us along with co-star Justin Baldoni, 39. The film is produced by Sony Pictures and Wayfarer Studios.
