80-Year-Old Harrison Ford Refuses to Accept Indiana Jones 5 as His Last Movie Ever

Harrison Ford has been a part of Hollywood almost for six decades and has risen to become one of the best actors in the industry. In his decades-long career, the actor has featured in a number of movies and portrayed several popular characters on screen, one of which also includes Indiana Jones from the action-adventure franchise.

He has played the character in four films under the franchise and is set to make his comeback as the archeologist adventurer in James Mangold’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. While it is expected to be his final film of the franchise, the 80-year-old actor has made it clear that he has no plans to retire from his career anytime soon.

Harrison Ford Doesn’t Plan to Retire Anytime Soon

During his recent appearance on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, Harrison Ford shared his thought about retirement from Hollywood. He has been working and entertaining his audience for almost six decades and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Talking about retirement, the Indiana Jones star said that he cannot retire as he doesn’t do well when he’s not working.

“I don’t do well when I don’t have work,” he said before stating that he loves to work as it makes him feel “useful” and “helpful.” When asked what it is he loves so much about starring in movies he said that it’s the people he works with that excite him about his work. The Star Wars actor further shared,

“It’s the combined ambition somehow forged from words on a page. I don’t plan what I want to do in a scene, and I don’t feel obliged to do anything.”

Ford, who turns 81 next month, still wishes s to bring remarkable performances for his audience. After his potentially last film in the Indiana Jones franchise, he is set to make his MCU debut with the 2024 film Captain America: Brave New World, followed by Thunderbolts.

Harrison Ford is Enjoying Making Movies More Than Ever

Harrison Ford shared in his recent interview with People that he never planned to become the leading man in movies. However, he wanted roles that would allow him to be financially stable and “make a living as an actor.”  And things changed for good after he starred in the 1977 film Star Wars: A New Hope.

While he has been in the industry for decades and has been a part of multiple films, the actor has shared that he enjoys “making movies more now than [he] ever did.” It is understood he is now enjoying his work more than ever and may not be looking to retire anytime soon. And with the Oscar-nominated star making his MCU debut soon, there is a possibility that he would continue to star in the franchise after Captain America: Brave New World.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is set to release on June 30, 2023.
