Chris Pratt is known to have auditioned for almost every other Marvel movie until he finally bagged his popular role of Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only did the fans love him because of his acting prowess but many even associated him to be the real-life embodiment of Peter Quill. Despite the fame he received from Marvel, there was one thing Pratt refused to do.
Before Pratt was Quill, he starred in the acclaimed NBC television series Parks and Recreation. Aired from 2009 to 2015, Pratt was praised for his comedic timing and on-screen charm. And it was this show he refused to leave even after becoming Star-Lord.
Chris Pratt Refused To Leave Parks and Recreation
Chris Pratt played the popular character Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation. His character development from a child-like personality to a well-meaning character coupled with an extraordinary sense of humor had fans loving him. Even after he entered the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pratt chose to remain in the show till it eventually wrapped up in 2015. He was once asked why he didn’t leave the show, and the GOTG star stated,
“Oh, man, it’s funny that you would ask that because it never once occurred to me. I’ve never even asked myself the question. That was never… That would never happen. I would never f**king ever leave this show!”
He even stated that for no amount of money would he have ever left the show,
“I don’t care how much money someone would offer me or what I could be offered, I wouldn’t abandon ship. There’s no f**king way.”
Pratt reciprocated fans’ love and even declared that he was very lucky to be able to find such an amazing group of cast members.
Chris Pratt Loves His Parks and Recreation Co-Stars
While most stars find it tough to get along with their co-stars, Chris Pratt loves his NBC show’s co-stars. He even stated that he doesn’t hope to find another group of amazing people as amazing as his Parks and Recreation co-stars.
“And for me, this show… I mean, I hope that I could possibly have the good fortune of finding another group of people like this, but I don’t expect I ever will… This team was awesome, and the process of making this show spoke to me and was so perfect for me like the way I like to work.”
His affection for his co-stars shines through his heartfelt words, and fans can witness the love and affection they have for each other even on-screen.
Parks and Recreation can be streamed on Hulu.
