Famous for his uniquely recognizable style of direction that includes vivid use of pastel as well as punchy color scheme, uncanny character designs, and unorthodox yet intriguing use of eccentricities in front of the rolling camera. In a recent interview, The Grand Budapest Hotel director talked about the recent TikTok challenge titled  “The Wes Anderson Challange” where fans are recreating his style and posting videos on the short content platform. While he may have no issues with this at first, the problem he has is the constant stream of memes he is receiving which contains content related to this challenge. With his statement, he has made it clear that he doesn’t wish to receive them anymore. He said:

“I’m very good at protecting myself from seeing all that stuff, If somebody sends me something like that I’ll immediately erase it and say, ‘Please, sorry, do not send me things of people doing me.’ Because I do not want to look at it, thinking, ‘Is that what I do? Is that what I mean?’ I don’t want to see too much of someone else thinking about what I try to be because, God knows, I could then start doing it.”

Therefore, with so much going on in his mind, Anderson would rather focus on what to do next rather than what people might perceive of him.
