Gal Gadot Wanted To Avoid Another Wonder Woman Movie

Back in 2016, Gal Gadot made her first appearance as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She later became a core member of Snyder’s DCEU with recurring appearances and now, she has joined James Gunn’s DCU.

Although she is popular for her role as Wonder Woman, the actress has also starred in several movies other than the DCEU and the DCU. Talking about her latest adventure flick, Gal Gadot talked about the upcoming Netflix movie titled Heart of Stone. Portraying the role of Rachel Stone, an intelligence operative, Gadot talked about how she wanted the movie to feel very different from her iconic role.

“You know something, I feel like from one movie to the other to the next, the bar just keeps on going up and up and up and every time I feel like ‘okay, this was the most. I’m never gonna be able to’, then the next movie comes along and the action is even more crazy.”

She further continued,

“And at the same time it’s also, you know, I didn’t want this to be another Wonder Woman film so the whole idea was to create a film that would be grounded and the action would be raw and dynamic and like when she [her on-screen character] gets the hit, you feel the pain with her. So it’s a lot different and we had to work out and train and prep for months before even filming this film”

Talking more about Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot revealed that one of her favorite sequences throughout the franchise was a very sweet yet empowering scene in Wonder Woman 1984.

During her interview, the actress further continued that she always gets emotional while seeing the opening scene of Wonder Woman 1984. Recalling her own childhood, Gal Gadot stated that she loved seeing a young Diana Prince running during the opening shots of the film.

“I must say that when I was watching the second Wonder Woman and it starts with this sequence of young Wonder Woman fighting, I got so emotional it was like me seeing as, me being a eight-year-old girl watching like an amazing girl doing amazing things. That was emotionally effective on me”

Although the actress has had her fair share of movies, it seems that Gal Gadot has a special place for the Wonder Woman franchise in her heart. As for Gadot’s upcoming starrer, Heart of Stone will be available to stream on Netflix when it releases on 11th August 2023 across the world.
