Actress Sandra Bullock played the lead role in a 1998 American fantasy romantic drama film. It is based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman. Actress Evan Rachel Wood was only 11 years old when she acted in the film. She was Bullock’s daughter in a dark comedy about witch sisters. She shared in an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen about her admiration for Bullock.

On being asked if she was in touch with her co-stars Bullock and Nicole Kidman, she revealed having a massive crush on Bullock. Rachel said,

“Oh, no, no. I had such a crush on Sandra Bullock when I was doing that movie [laughs]. But I didn’t realize it until later on in life. It’s like, oh you were in love with her.”

On being asked how she would characterize her love for Bullock, she said,

“As much as an 11-year-old girl could be with her movie mom.”

She added that working with Bullock was fantastic.

Bullock shared in an interview with People that she had a lot of fun shooting for the film. She revealed the midnight margarita scene with Kidman, Stockard Channing, and Dianne Wiest was one of her gibdest memories. In the scene, the women got drunk due to the magical margaritas. Bullock shared,

“I had such a great time. And the fact is, we don’t have anything in common, except for at the dinner table with a bottle of wine, and everything sort of blends together.”

“We weren’t drunk when we shot these parts or when we did our close-ups. But we had to reshoot a scene where it was far away and we were on our backs and Nicole just put the bottle on the table and said, ‘You know what? There’s no reason we shouldn’t be drunk here.’ And I said, ‘You know what? That’s true.’”

Nicole Kidman also shared that she loved the movie. She showed it to the kids, 

“I love that movie. I showed that movie to my kids. It’s a little above their.”

Bullock added,

“But we’re really good sisters and really good drinkers.”

Practical Magic was released in 1996 and earned $75 million worldwide. It is available for streaming on Hulu.
