The 38-year-old actress, Gal Gadot kicked off her acting journey in Hollywood with the Fast & Furious franchise by portraying the role of Gisele Yashar. While her supporting role was seen in a few films including the new Fast X, it was not enough to make her successful like she wanted at the time.

In a 2017 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she opened up about having a hard time continuing to face rejections.

She told the host,

This profession, the rejection, ooh dude, it’s tough. ”

She continued to explain how it was difficult for her to continue the auditions which even dragged her family alongside her.

“I had so many almosts, and another camera test … and another role, and another role … and I was like, telling my husband, ‘I’m not sure how long I can take it, dragging my family to Los Angeles, doing this …”

Due to her constant rejection, she even considered putting an end to her misery by leaving her acting career for good.

After getting rejections for a few auditions, she also decided to give it a go when director Zack Synder gave her a call about an audition without disclosing what role it was.

She told in the episode,

“On the same trip—we were in Los Angeles—I got a phone call from Zach Snyder, who wanted to audition me for this secret role. I was like, ‘Ok, sure … I’ll do that.’”

She went to audition for the role which was quite a mystery even to herself.

“You have lines, you get the lines, but you have no idea what the story is about, who’s the character, nothing.”

After the audition happened, she was having second thoughts about her acting career. She went back to Israel for a project but was unsure as to whether she would pursue acting or not.

“We set, did the audition, I went back to Israel to shoot an Israeli movie, and I didn’t know if I wanted to continue acting afterwards.”

Thankfully, she got the role which ultimately turned out to be the lead protagonist’s role of Wonder Woman.
